Using an organic natural baby soap on your child is not only safe for them but also for the environment as well. Such products contain no kinds of artificial ingredients, which are likely to cause irritation to their sensitive skin.

As you will soon discover there are numerous different types of natural organic baby soaps that one can select from today. However, you may find that there are some that are better suited to your child than others. But along with these kinds of soaps being safe for use on young babies and children, these can also be ideal for other members of your family as well.

The problem with actually purchasing commercially made organic soaps is that they are more expensive than other ones that are not. So if you would like to use only natural products on your child’s skin and save yourself money as well you could always have a go at making your own soap instead. All you will need is a few pieces of equipment including a couple of saucepans, some gloves and goggles as well as the natural ingredients. Below we take you through the steps of making your own natural organic baby soap.

Step 1 - You need to get together all the ingredients to make the soap. For this particular soap, you will need 15 ounces of organic olive oil, 5 ounces of organic palm oil, 5 ounces of organic coconut oil as well as 3.5 ounces of lye and 8 ounces of water.

Step 2 - Next, you need to prepare the lye you do this by adding it to the water and once it comes into contact with a chemical reaction occurs. As the lye comes into contact with the water it actually makes it heat up and it is best if you carry out this step outside because the mixture also lets off fumes. Once the lye has been thoroughly mixed with the water, you need to let it stand in order for it to cool down. It is best to let it reach room temperature before you start the next step of the soap making process.

Step 3 - After the lye mixture has reached room temperature, you now need to add the oils to this. But before you can do this, you will need to heat them up so place them all in the other pan and wait until they have reached the correct temperature. Using a thermometer will help you to know when the right temperature has been reached for the oils.

Step 4 - After the oils have reached the correct temperature, take the pan that they are in off the heat and very slowly begin to stir in the lye mixture that you prepared earlier. Once you have completely mixed the lye into the oils you can use a stick blender if you want and mix for one minute until the soap becomes thick and opaque.

Step 5 - As soon as the mixture has reached the right consistency then you can pour it into moulds. Once in the moulds you should allow the soap to stand for around 24 hours in a cool place so that it can set properly. After this time, the organic natural baby soap that you have made will be ready for you to use.
